Cast Iron Skillet Cornbread

Gluten Free Cornbread made in an Cast Iron Skillet. Crunchy crust on cornbread taste so good. Cooking in hot oiled skillet gives the cornbread a nice crunch.

Cast Iron Skillet Cornbread

  • 1/2 cup cornmeal
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoon butter melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil
  • 6 inch cast iron skillet

Pour cooking oil in cast iron skillet, set in oven at 425°.

Meanwhile slightly beat egg, add milk, and butter, stir in cornmeal, baking powder, baking soda and pinch of salt.

Take cast iron skillet out of oven set on stove, skillet is super hot be careful! Pour batter into hot skillet,

Return to oven and bake for about 25 minutes.
